I have lived in the Terraces at Towne Lake in Woodstock for a little under a year, and I would like to be very clear as to why I am not renewing my lease and will never live in this community again. This morning I came home to find out that my hot water has been shut off due to a bad leak. The note left on my kitchen counter said that maintenance will not be able to replace the hot water heater until Monday. Why' Is Home Depot closed on Sunday' Is it really necessary that I have to take a cold shower today because it is a Sunday' Telling me to take a shower at the pool is not acceptable. The emergency maintenance requests on the Terraces phone line lists not having ANY hot water in the entire apartment as a maintenance emergency. However I have been disregarded from Saturday night until Monday at whatever time maintenance feels like getting around to fixing the problem. This is not the first issue I have had with this complex either. All year my electric bills have been sky high. Over $200 some months. I have had maintenance out multiple times to check on the air conditioner whenever it was not cooling my apartment. Once the thermostat was not working properly and needed battery replacement, so it was not shutting off when reach the proper temperature. Another time a null staff member told me the air conditioner was not cooling because the lawn staff had blown grass clippings inside the outside AC fan unit. I have spoken with the property manager several times about this issue and she never gets back to me. The cabinets inside the kitchen are falling apart, the paint looks deplorable, the shower door doesn't function right (I had to have maintenance fix the door the first day I moved in, because it was put on backwards). These things are all unacceptable and I refuse to pay money to live here any longer once my lease is up. I am so tired and frustrated with this place. I will never recommend this complex to anyone, ever. I am moving somewhere nicer, where although the rent may be a bit more expensive, at least I will get what I pay for.
