We moved cross country from CA in a car with an 8th month old. The office promised a lot and never came through. We were told that someone would be there to open our apartment and they weren't. It came down to getting our directv up and the office had already told us that we could have a satellite dish on the apartment and we could get reception. Nope. Thankfully directv came through and didn't charge us to cancel. The carpets weren't cleaned, which was also promised. We also had cockroaches everywhere. After 10 days of living there and just unpacking our last box, the water main in the upstairs apartment burst and flooded into our apartment at midnight. The alarms where screaming. Our neighbor above us called the fire department because we could not get a hold of the maintenance man. The office was ticked that the fire department came and the maintenance man was a jerk when he came. Our neighbors were awesome! They let me take my baby over to their apt. until 2am. Our apt. was in bad shape. The walls were wet through and the carpet wet. The office expected us to live there with our baby with a just a couple patches. We said forget it. We knew they would never get around to it and mold would form. We fought it until they got us a new apartment. The whole time they were rude and obnoxious. Thank God we got out of there a few months later because our apartment was the next one in the line of the fire. The buildings are nice, but it is not worth it when you have to deal with the people. Just a little kindness could go a long way.
