My fiance and I moved here from Illinois in May and we moved into a 2bedroom apartment. Everything seemed to be fine and dandy until Memorial Day when our family was having a bbq and some of the kids were upstairs on my balcony playing around. A neighbor that lived on the first floor came upstairs and told us our kids were being too loud and that they needed to keep quiet and respect other people who live there. I kindly told her that its a holiday and that its 2 in the afternoon and they are more then welcome to play on my balcony anytime they want! Keep in mind I lived on the fourth floor, so I have no idea why she complained. After that incident, my 3 yr old son and I were going to walk up the stairs but a neighbor and some other people were all sitting on the stairs smoking a joint and wouldnt get up. We walked up the other stairwell and as we were walking up stairs the neightbor told my son to shut up. I called the office the next day and they said that the neighbor has had many complaints but theres nothing they can do about it. I told them they better or were moving out, because thats not respectful or safe. Our cabinet in our kitchen literally fell apart in September, we moved out in December, it never got fixed and their trying to make us pay for it. I told them they could kiss it on that. Our front burner on our stove never worked and they never came to fix it. They did however come into my apartment without knocking to see if someone was home to fix my sink that never needed to be fixed. The people in the office are rude and if you try to ask a question you never get the same answer or if you need to speak to a certain someone that person is never there. Our water bill was always $100 or more, which I find kind of hard to believe because I lived in a 2 bedroom and my inlaws live in a 3 bedroom and theres was only $50 a month. The same with our electric bill, I received a $500 bill one month and I fought with georgia powere because thats the only electric company you can have there, and they said there was nothing they could do about it. So i called the office and they said well maybe you need your filter changed, so they finally got around to it and the guy who changed it said it hadnt been changed in 2 years. The insulation is absolutely horrible!You are either freezing or extremely hot. We paid our rent on time every month with a money order, and in October they tried telling us we didnt pay our rent and charged us the $300 court cost because they filed against us, and I proved to them that I paid it before the 3rd, they still made me pay the filing fee. Then I had called them and told them that my rent was going to be late in November by 4 days and they said thats fine just pay the fee, which I did. They never went back to the courts to say they received the payment and gave us a paper saying we were being evicted. We got out stuff packed up in one day and moved to another place and told them their s-o-l. They dont want to work with us, were not willing to work with them. I am SOOO glad we are out of that place! Its ghetto, horrible, dangerous, and loud as all heck! Do NOT move into there if you dont have to, you will be saving yourself a lot of money!

My thoughts exactly, I lived there for a year ending this past august. Not only poorly maintained, but they try to cheat you out of every cent they can!

Unforturnately, I am going through this now. I have lived at the Towne Lake Terraces for 6 months. I just gave up on them because they are rude & they do not care!!!!!They smile & act like they are concerned but I had to go to the top to get anything done. Right now we have something that has chewed through the ceiling & left a mess in our hallway. We notified them about a month before & told them we had some animial inside the walls waking us up at night. Then guess what by not reponding it is trying to chew up the apartment. The vent in the kitchen has black foam stuff coming out like maybe it is chewing through the insulation. It is horrible and dangerous. I am afraid that a fire might start with this animal. I talked with my neighbors & they complained but nothing happen as usual so I went to MAAC & sent e-mails to the heads in Georgia. I finally got a call when for a 3rd time I called MAAC about what was going on & they e-mailed the one in charged for this area. You can't get a straight answer from these people & when you do you do not know whether to trust them. In the beginning I ask for simple things like ink for the printer they offer you & also bulbs for the lights on the tennis courts. The laundry room is a dirty mess. The trash dumpster is an eyesore when you enter the apartment complex. Not to mention the animals using the bathroom in front of the apartments & on walkways for you to smell when you are going into your apartment. Our carpet was not cleaned when we moved in & we had to stay on top of that. The bathrooms were nasty & they let us move in like that...We almost left that night but we were so tired we could not get enough energy in us to turn around & leave. I agree with you 100% it is time to start looking once the trust is broken & apparently that do not want to communicate with you until you call everyone under the sun, I had rather just move because there are other apartments out there, but this time I will do a lot better researching apartments next time. Do not let a smile fool you because that is all they did is smile & say I will take care of it.LOL Also, we have had to fight roaches, ants & some type bug that is huge. We could not even leave a crumb out without ants taking us off in the kitchen & the bathroom. I guess I can go on & on. I will stop there for now & see how they deal with this problem.

Oh and I forgot to mention that in one of the buildings right next to me, I will not say which one just because I am not sure if he still has family living there or not. There was a man that was molesting children. I only know that because every news channel in Atlanta was there taping him being arrested! The complex NEVER warned the parents of the complex about him. I believe its a law that you have to let people know that a molester is in the complex, you dont have to give all their info but at least warn them! I called the complex and they acted like it was nothing. The one girl was laughing while I was talking to the other girl explaining how dangerous this place is. Isn't that nice? Real good people! They're a joke!
