Not much good to say about this place

I lived here for 2 years - just moved out a few weeks ago. I am so glad to finally be gone. I loved the floor plan and rent wasn't too bad (never had an increase) compared to the apartment I lived in off of Powers Ferry previously. However, the main problem with this place is the turnover of management. In the 2 years I lived here, there were 4 different property managers. Not much gets accomplished when there is that much turnover. Also, maintenance was constantly changing. You never knew who or when anyone was going to be in your apartment. It's rather unfortunate that maintenance can't read the apartment numbers on the doors. I came home one day to see a note saying maintenance had been in my apartment to fix a leaky faucet. I never called in this request and after looking at the paper, I noticed that the request was for the apartment below mine!
One major thing that started after living here about a year and a half was the influx of college students. Prior to that, it was rather quiet, but recently that wasn't the case. Apparently they are getting desperate for renters and aren't screening them properly. When you have college students inhabiting most of your units, that means there are many, many drunk nights stumbling in late making lots of noise. This happened almost every weekend in my building. One particular occurrence was so bad, that the after hours security officer had to call the Cherokee County Sheriffs Dept for back up.
Perhaps if I was 10 years younger this place would appeal to me, but if you're looking for a nice, quiet place to live, don't choose Avonlea. I am so thankful to own my own home now. No more apartment living for me!
