Great until you move in!

The staf is great until you move in. Then after that they don't care about you or any of your problems. The manager is rude and the staff all lie to you. They are constanlty having little fees that go up and are known for telling you one thing and doing another. The property is nice but unless you want to be treated like crap then don' move in.

Based on my own personal experience with management, the exact opposite is true, and I couldn't disagree more. I have lived here for almost one year, and not only has the staff gone beyond the call of duty, they have exceeded my expectations, even in circumstances where it was neither
expected and/or called for. Maintenance requests are handled immediately (and done very well), and the building manager has been anything but rude. I think this is a very well run complex, and regret that I have to move from here at the end of my lease and have told management as such. Unfortunately, Woodstock is way too far from where I work, and I'm spending too much time and money commuting.

With regard to the posting from "Anonymous" below (which came after my above rebuttal) I don't know if you are also the author of the 5/14/08 review, but I can assure you I am not with Avonlea. I am simply a tenant who has lived at Avonlea for almost a year and will be moving at the end of my lease in order to be closer to work. In any event, I'm sorry if it makes you unhappy to see someone disagree with you, but my experience here has been nothing like yours. Also, my rebuttal was posted promptly because I received an email notifying me that a new review had been posted on this website (this happens if you have posted a prior review here, and I posted one on 9/5/07 titled "So Far, So Good"). When I read the new review, I disagreed, and felt compelled to voice my own opinion.
Nonetheless, I stand by my words. There will always be people out there who complain or have an axe to grind, but the management in my experience has been excellent. If anyone is considering renting at Avonlea and would like additional information, feel free to email me me at kisanyary@yahoo.com, and leave information as to how I can contact you.

I think it's very interesting that the mostly negative response are rebuttled quite quickly. Just to inform everyone a few members of the office staff live in the Avonlea, so therefore this isn't totally a lie.
I would like to go further and say that the Avonlea is horrible. I moved from and contacted the Better Business Bureau as well as got an attorney. Little do they know they are about to be sued for slander.
