I wrote a review before that these apartments were great, but I take that back now. The apartments were great when the old landlord was in charge, Karen was the typical nice old lady that took care of everything, was very understanding and very accomodating. I'm a professional, not a student, and when I first moved in she assured me that they do not rent to college students who are not married and they only rent to families and professionals. This isn't the case any more. Since the new management took over, more and more college students have been given leases and I've had lots of noise problems with the tenants above me. They also had a party one night and a drunk girl clogged the toilet and didn't know what to do about it and the water overflowed into my bathroom on the floor below. Disgusting.

I've also noticed the cops around more at some of the buildings and have checked with Ames police and it turns out they have quite a few domestic disturbances at these apartments. I've been here over three years and I am finally moving out. Rent used to be acceptable for the kind of apartments but recently rent has shot through the roof and it's not worth it anymore. You don't get the "family living" like you used to and the service provided by management also isn't as good as it was when Karen was in charge.

One note to anyone renting here!! You are given an option, by signing a form, to have packages dropped off at the manager's office instead of having to go to the UPS or USPS offices to pick them up. DO NOT bother with this service. Management hours are unreliable and even durng business hours people aren't in the office. It took me almost a week to find a time that the manager -Raylee- or a representative was in the office when I was available to pick up my package.
