Oakwood isn't a bad place, but there's definitely a lot better (like across the road at Wessex).

Parking is bad. If you don't buy a garage for (in 2002-2003) $40/mo, you take your chances on the pavement with very few parkign spaces, or park in the gravel with no markings. Without markings, no one knows how to park and either case problems when trying to back out or take up 2-3 spaces.

Maintenance is average, having a somewhat slow response time but good fixes.

Gaps under the patio door were quite large and never fixed correctly. During the cold Iowa winters, the living room could be quite cold and expensive to heat.
