a little dated, but well kept

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I lived in one of the one-bedroom units last year. The carpet could stand to be replaced (it was dark blue - a little outdated) but other than that the apartment was great. You get a lot of space for the price and the apartment was kept up well. My only complaint is the parking lot, which is narrow and difficult to get in and out of.
The apartments are near two red bus route stops and a purple route stop is about a block away. It is far enough from campus to be relatively quiet, but a gym, a Hy-Vee, and a gas station are all nearby. The walls are a little thin, and it does get a little noisy on occasion depending on who your neighbors are, but I consider those to be minor problems. The agents are very nice and are usually responsive to problems that might arise with the apartment.
I had one fairly large bedroom and a large kitchen, though the living room is not all that big. I had a small patio and bathroom and the bedroom had a small walk in closet. I gave the landscaping two stars because there really isnt any. There is no "yard" to speak of and there are very few trees actually on the property.
I would recommend Twin Oaks for students, especially to those on a budget. The Twin Oaks complex also includes efficiencies in a smaller, one level building, which I am considering moving into in the winter.
