Ashbrooke was the worst place I have ever lived. Sure, the 2-acre lake looks like a picture from a magazine, but what they dont show you is all of the ducks and duck s**t everywhere you look and walk. The maintenance was horrible. There were cracks that were never fixed in most of the walls, broken down vehicles in the back lot that never moved and bugs getting in through cracks and holes in the windows and bottoms of the walls. Oh..and I especially enjoyed how at least once a night you were awoken to the calming sounds of police cars in the parking lot due to the individuals that lived there. If there is a ghetto part of Ankeny...this is it. Also..I lived next door to the maintenance man and could hear him and his girlfriend arguing every night..lovely. The management has no care for anyone/anything at that place..all they want is your money. My suggestion would be to drive right on past it...if you stop you will regret it for the 1 year that you sign your contract for.
