I have lived here for just over 5 years... that's right, 5. In that time, my rent only went up once, just earlier this year. For the most part, this is a very quiet neighborhood. Once in awhile, mainly in summer and on the weekends, you can hear people out on their decks late at night, but it's no biggie. The walls/ceiling/floors are thick and block most of your neighbor's sounds. It is well insulated and I rarely have to turn my thermostat above 65 in the winter. The managers are great at getting any maintenance problems taken care of swiftly. The buildings are secure entry - you need a code to unlock the entry way. I have rarely had a problem getting use of the laundry room when I needed it.

My only real "complaint" is that there is no central air conditioning, only a box unit in the living room. The bedrooms have ceiling fans, which helps, but sometimes in the summer it can get HOT. I am fortunate that I have an east-facing unit (I chose it for precisely that reason) because the sun isn't beating into your place after 11am or so.

Like a previous poster, I kind of wish they allowed pets, but on the other hand, the apartments probably wouldn't be in such a nice state if they did.

I have thoroughly enjoyed living here, and if I didn't have to move out of state for work, I would probably stay here longer!
