I've lived in Sterling since August of 2002 and have had my share of ups and downs living here. The management tries to do a good job, but I think corporate policies require them to do stupid things sometimes. As for the fines, I been threatened with several for cigarette butts, but explaining to management that no one in our apartment smokes usually takes care of it. I've never actually been charged with one. The buildings were built cheaply but stay in good shape if taken care of. I've enjoyed having my own room, close parking, reasonable utilities, and own sink in the bathroom. The place doesn't have to be as bad as all these reviews make it sound. Just a warning that there is a problem with the review written 1/22/2004. They say they lived at Sterling for two years, but the buildings were first open May of 2002 so a full two years here is impossible.
