The manager is very unprofessional. The first year we lived there we had six mice (on the second floor!) because of unsealed holes- mostly near the waterheater. (We had someone come in and find where the mice were coming from- because the manager wouldn't take responsibility.) The manager told us we must have "crumbs" in our apartment. Our apartment was very clean. We also heard of many other people with mice, but the manager pretended she didn't know, and she didn't want to help us get rid of them. Over the next two years, we had five more mice. It was disgusting. The apartments do get very loud at night, one of our neigbors who was in a band had band practice afterhours on weekends. The reason that hillcrest is having specials and lowering rents, is because people have realized that the apartments suck, and no one wants to live there. They are too far away from campus. Also, read your lease carefully, even if you don't resign the lease, you get charged for another months rent if you don't give them 30 day notice that you're moving out. Just another cheap way to rip off college kids. There are plenty of apartments in town, and I would suggest one other than hillcrest.
