Hillcrest seemed like a good place to live...at first. But once you sign a lease, it sucks. Maintainence is the slowest at arriving to fix a problem and then you have to call them back again and again because it isn't fixed right the first time. Our internet didn't work right half of the time and the office staff said it wasn't there problem, if we wanted it fixed we had to call CFU and arrange for it to be fixed. BULL!! And then if you decide that you don't want to live there or have some reason you need to not be there anymore, there is only one way out, find a subleaser. Most apartments have a fee you can pay and be out of your lease but not hillcrest. And then you may think you're going to get help from the office staff in finding a subleaser, YEAH RIGHT. They told me if they had anyone interesting in living there or subleasing they would let me know, then later they told me they cover their own butts first and sign new leases, they don't help tennants find subleasers. Also if for some reason you can't pay your rent by the 11th of the month, they will file law suit papers against you. And often they get their books messed up and say you didn't pay, even if you did. Then you have to take proof of your payment into them and they will just say 'Oops we messed up sorry.' This happens all the time....one girl I know has had it happen the past 3 months. Overall hillcrest is one of the poorest run apartment complexes and I wouldn't ever choose to live there again. You're better off in the dorms!!
