I have rented from this apartment complex in three leases ,actually four leases, for my daughters while they attended college at UNI. Advantages it was close and safe. Parking isn't convenient - there is never any place for guests/visitors to park. Fairly quiet and safe - not exactly affordable. There are much more affordable apartments in area. The first three leases were better than the last. When the new managers took over in late 2007, we had to sign a new lease under them which is why we had four leases. This lease was so small could hardly be read - I actually had to call and have items clarified they are so small they can't be seen. The original rent was $505 - after they took over they added cable and internet to every apartment and $50 to pay whether you wanted or not. They also raised the rent and additional $30 for no added features. And as a choice of month to month term lease and an additional $40, so the final rent was $639. (I realize the numbers don't add up, but My last payment was $639) My last daughter recently moved out. She was/is an excellent student, not a partier or druggie, on the deans list, and worked at the university cleaning and summers cleaned yachts, in high demand. I was there the day she moved out and witnessed the state of the apartment - not hospital clean, but very clean for a college student. Recently I received and additional bill for cleaning charges of $259. $60 for the bathroom, $40 for the stove, $55 for the kitchen, $50 for windows and carpets, and $25 for repainting a wall from stain - also which I never saw. One item of $29 was to clean the celing fan blades and replace four light bulbs. Four light bulbs cost about $3, so they charged $26 to clean four fan blades. These are pretty bogus ridiculous charges, and we will dispute them with tenant protection and the better business bureau, but just be prepared before you rent from these people. Renter beware is my advice. I also suspect that some of these reviews may be written by the landlords - I have seen the tenants at this apartment and they just don't match those glowing accolades. Again, be smart and beware. Good luck!
