These apartments sound nice on paper but they are not worth it if you are not a Kirkwood Student. The positives are nicely sized bathrooms and pretty new counter-tops. The negatives' Well, the washers and dryers are expensive and don't work. The apartments frequently leak; the closets, the dishwashers, etc. The noise levels are ridiculous-- there are parties 24/7, some of them right outside the building entrances. The parking is horrible- it is frequently impossible to find a spot and if you do it is often far from your unit. The management is nice enough but the tend to come into the apartments for repairs and inspections with minimal notice.The price is astronomical for what you are getting (rent will be $685 for fall 2008). For the price you pay you could get a pool, more square footage, work out facilities, and even in unit washers and dryers at other complexes in the Cedar Rapids area. Bottom line-- it's like living in a high priced dorm room,and while that is, in fact, the image they are to project, it is not a good match for those just looking for a nice place to live.

i completely agree with you! this is a nice place to look at but how is a college kid supposed to afford it!! i am almost done living here and can't wait. you have to twist their arms to fix something completely the first time. washers and dryers and 1.25 and 1.00!! they have never done any insect spraying that i have seen. the lease says in cold months they spray inside... i'm pretty sure i would have noticed if they had sprayed!!
