Hundreds of students every year look at advertisements for the Kirkwood Courts and think, "Free internet, cable, water, trash, AND electricity' How could you go wrong'" Well, I was one of these students and after two years of living here, I've realized that I saved this money at the expensive of my privacy and freedom. The security is a joke; every night I had to sit in my apartment with my TV volume at a minimum and my voice at a mere whisper for fear that I would receive a $25.00 'noise violation' ticket. Their purpose is supposedly to keep the tenants safe but you will find that instead of preventing pipe bomb vandalism, they are more interested in peeking in your windows to try and find a reason to write you up for a violation. The maintenance is definitely a perk of living here. If someone reports a damage in their apartment, one could expect to have it fixed within a day or two. The office staff is relatively easy to get along with however, I think most can agree that they can be stubborn or just downright 'Jewish' to their tenants. Cat owners: stay away from here unless you want to pay a $350.00 deposit ON TOP of the deposit you already threw down. Overall, these apartments are not worth the money you pay. Be prepared to lose money with your deposit, lose sleep due to noise, and lose any privacy you thought you would gain by moving away from home because big brother (AKA power-hungry security) is watching.

I agree. I lived in the Kirkwood Courts and Campus View, who are run by the same office. It was horrible. I kept my apartment in EXCELENT condition in the SIX MONTHS I lived there, yet they still found a way to screw me out of all my deposit my depoit PLUS tell me I owed them more! Security did nothing but disturb the peace....or stink up the laundry building where their office was located. And the office? just a bunch of liars. Maintenance once woke me up out of my bed just to chew me out for something that needed to be fixed when I moved in! I HATED EVERY SECOND I LIVED THERE.
