When I first moved into The Pointe, I thought it was great.
Nice facilities, just remodeled and the staff seemed friendly. I soon learned it was only a front in order to get me to sign an 18month lease.
I started getting infraction notices for occurrences which I couldn't possibly commit (as the times were when I was at work or out or town), in December of 2007 I had SEVEN packages picked up by someone else from the office- NO ID CHECK. My maintence complaints took MONTHS to get completed, when I would bring them to managements attention numerous times- they would make me feel as though I had done something incorrectly.
My younger sister is mauled by a dog well outside of the weight limit, I bring this to their attention and they state- it is none of my concern. I should pay attention to my own dogs (a chihuahua and a yorkie). A few months later, I get a notice accusing me of allowing my dogs to decifate in the hallways and that I have 7 days to recitify this situation.
At no time have my dogs deficated in the hallways! They are never in the hallways unless going outside with me and a doggie bag! There was one occassion following Thanksgiving when there was kitty litter and poo in the hallway- obviously didn't come from a dog...
The Pointe charges between 25-50 for an infraction, which can be anything from loud music, having an unreported visitor(s) over, not picking up after a pet, allowing your alarm clock to go off too long, etc... management is not good/timely about fixing laundry equipement, charges vast fees for late rent- EVEN due to weather (for example, winter of 2007-8, many individuals were unable to turn rent in as the office was closed and/or the rent box was blocked off by piled snow, was opened on the 6th, rent is due the 5th- EVERY person in my hall was charged late rent). You often feel unheard.
Parking is very poor near my building, noise level is ok wall to wall, floor to floor- not so good, very creaky, but I am on the bottom floor and near the stairs.

I would also have to agree with the amount of infractions. I think about every 2 weeks there was something posted on our door or a neighbors door stating we owed- $.79 one time and there was no description of what it was for. I mean come one, are you really hurting that you need to demand 79 cent?!! The manager of the office who sits in the back, is NOT friendly at all!
I would also have to agree with the whole rent experience. We were charged $25 as well. At any given point, we never turned rent in late!
Our lease ended a few months ago and we moved into a house. We NOW owe $585 for pet smell and various things. First off we do not own a pet, we steam cleaned the apartment ourselves and replaced the stove pans as well. This place is the ticket if your willing/wanting to loose a lot of money! Glad we didn't get sucked into the 18 month lease!!
