I would have to say that I did enjoy living at Ashford apartments for the 11 months my boyfriend and I rented a 2 bedroom/ 1 bath apartment there. The staff was always friendly and helpful. There was a 24hr. maintenance guy which was nice. You could page them and they'd call back ususally within just a few minutes and would be over at least in an hour to fx whatever the problem is.
The only problems my boyfriend ever really had living here was parking. That was an issue...there are no assigned spots to park for people who live there. Ashford has a rule that only the people who are on the lease can park in the spots in front of the apartments. There is plenty of "friend/ visitor parking" but it was never used by the visitors. There are many times that I would come home late at night and would have to park pretty far away because of all of my neighbors would have all of their friends over. That was very annoying and the fact that nothing could be done about was frustrating.
We only had a problem with noise once when our upstairs nieghbors decided to have a loud drinking party with their windows and DOOR wide open...laughing and screaming. It was taken care of in a timely manner so the problem did not last long at all.
One thing that I think the apartment complex has just totally let go on is the landscaping...they have some guys who do "work" around there but I think they need like someone to trim and water the bushes/plants...maybe cut the grass more often and add some flowers and it would look a lot nicer.
I always felt safe outside for the most part and there is lighting on the apartments to light up the parking lot area.
I am glad that my boyfriend and I moved out though because it seemed that they have just begun to let anyone rent there they're so worried about 100% occupancy that the place has gotten a lot more ghetto.
Overall these are very large, nice, fairly new spacious apartments for the price. They're also located in a good place in the quad cities as well. Some of the minor things is just what you would have to put up with anywhere. No apartment is perfect.
