I left about three months ago and I am glad I got out. I tried reading some of the other reviews on here but I kept getting sidetracked by what looked like comments and reviews from the management. I think this above all else should be a telling sign to prospective residents about how this place is run. The fact that they would pretend to be other people is pretty immature. My biggest complaint about the residence is the management. I don't think I ever had a good run in with them. When I would tell them things were broken, they would often blame me first and then tell me they were busy the entire week. It was almost like I had to beg them or ask them to deduct it out of my deposit for them to fix it. Towards the end, I just fixed things myself (I guess that's why I paid the rent). Management also seemed very cheap with things. For example, they use their own equipment to clean your floor but charge you $75 bucks to do it! That and they hired other residents to actually do some of the painting and plastering around the complex. I didn't have too many complaints about the inside of the building aside from the air conditioning units. Those things must have been a 100 years old. That and there was hardly any sound insulation between apartments (you could hear music and television from neighbors through your walls to the point of actually making out what shows they were listening to). Winter wasn't fun this last year either. I didn't live here for more than a year so I don't know if that is common practice or not but it was pretty bad. I had to park on the street a few times and got my car plowed in because of it. I just felt like they could have salted or started to plow earlier in the morning. I sometimes didn't have work until 1 pm and parking lot was still not plowed by then. We all don't have SUVs so this was a major inconvenience. The place isn't perfect and if you have a choice, I would live somewhere else. It really isn't worth the fight with management or their famed "security checks" just for a place to live. There are far better apartments near by (3000 Grand, Windsor Terrace and numerous others all along Grand).
