Glad to be out

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

Right off the bat I knew something was wrong. The minute I signed over my first check they went from "we will do everything for you" to "get out of our faces." I lived there for a year and year was too long. I wouldn't have minded them being rude or cheap if they had done a good job on everything else but, after a few short months I was already looking for somewhere else to live. I wanted to break my lease because it had gotten so bad but they threatened me with paying every month in full that I had left so I stayed. My experiences seem pretty similar to some of the other posters on here: the security checks are very shady (I use my sink, I think I will know when it is broken, thank you), things would never get fixed on time or even correctly and you were blamed for everything that went wrong. I think I have a unique situation would a bug infestation which invaded through a hole in the screen that management refused to fix. When I told them about the bugs they told me that it must have been my fault since it never happened before. Oh and lots of things on the complex are cheap. They never take you on a tour of the "gym" because it is a joke. Most of the equipment doesn't even work!

Some positives: they have a sauna and two pools. The one pool they don't take care of so I wouldn't swim in it but the other one is decent. The inside of the apartments isn't too bad either. The carpets are worn and dirty but nothing too bad. The privacy isn't too good though. You can hear people walking outside your apartment and it sounds like they are dropping bowling balls because of the way the building is set up. Its good for a scare at night!

Conclusion: the managers did it in for me. I think I could have tolerated it if it hadn't been for them. The older guy just seemed angry all the time while the younger one was too busy with himself to even care. Being an educated person, I don't like being talked to like an infant simply because they are too lazy to do their jobs. I wouldn't live here unless this is your last choice. I moved to a nice place in West Des Moines and I haven't been happier. They were actually shocked when I told them about the checks they did. This place actually personally notifies you 48 hours in advance if they need to get into your apartment; not the one knock key thing they do in Four Seasons!! I am glad to be out of Four Seasons and would encourage anyone reading this to not even attempt to live here.
