Afraid to go home...

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I wish I would have read through the 40 pages worth of lease sooner, because then I would have known that they broke every contractual "promise" made in the lease. I could have legally gotten out of my lease sooner than now, without penalty, and spent the past year of my life unafraid to go home.
When I moved in, the staff was wonderful and the apartment looked very nice. I signed a lease and moved in... only to find the place infested with roaches. I called the management only to find that they were replaced with the bitchiest, most uncaring persons I have ever rented from. Over the course of 14 months (and at least 3 calls per week), they'd sent an exterminator twice. Management changed again, and it progressively got worse. I soon realized that my bug problem would never get better, because it was an apartment wide problem (aparments, hallways and laundry), and they were only treating a few apartments at a time. The whole building needs a treatment, and a MAJOR cleaning.
Every negative thing I've read about this complex is true. The water pressure is horrible and I've had to boil brita water before to get the shampoo out of my hair (and to give my son a bath). The tenant population is going downhill. I've seen more people drinking behind the wheel and heard more domestic disputes than ever (yes, you can hear every word the people around you say). My son has cut his foot on broken beer bottles in the parking lot. A few months back, my neighbors hunting rifles were stolen from his car right outside my son's bedroom window. Our air conditioner (which pumps warm air and ices over if you turn it on) has been leaking freon for four months and has never been fixed as promised. I've taken more pictures of problems in this apartment than my memory stick can hold... as evidence in case my son were to get sick from this place. And lastly... the piping sucks... BIG TIME!!! Anytime someone in the 2 apartments above me flushed their toilet or used their garbage disposal, their poop and their food/water would come up into my toilet and sink!!! On one occassion, the people above me kept their garbage disposal running (for some reason) and my apartment flooded as did my neighbors. It took management over 4 hours to get a plumber to our homes. And of course, the roaches LOVED this!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Timberland is the biggest pile in the rental industry. You may see the price and think it is a great deal... but you get what you pay for, and that is NOTHING here.
