Do NOT move here.

I WISH I would have found this site before we moved in. EVERYTHING the previous negative reviewers have said is TRUE! My family and I were absolutely miserable there. PLEASE DON'T MAKE OUR MISTAKE!!!!
There are no pros so here's our list of cons:
1) Parking is absolutely hellatious.
2) Parties all the time.
3) Roaches and mice.
4) Water pressure sucks & watch out if your neighbors flush the toilet or take their shower the same time as you! You'll be dodging scalding and ice cold water the entire time.
5) The walls & ceilings are paper thin. You hear absolutely EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing. I dread being home because it's so loud when the neighbors are home at the same time. It sounds like they are constantly herding cows up there.
6) I've called maintenance 4 different times about the deadbolt on our door. They finally replaced it after the 5th call.
7) The buildings are NOT secure. No locks or access codes on the outside doors. I can't tell you how many times I've come home to doors propped open everywhere.
8) The cable system is a monopoly so we opted for a satellite dish, which we had to pay the complex a $500 deposit for (in addition to the $600 security deposit for the apartment).
9) If the people upstairs stop up their toilet, your toilet won't flush properly. (It doesn't flush properly anyway since it overflows at the drop of a hat.)
10) When we moved in, we discovered that the cord for the air conditioner had been chewed through & taped back together with electrical tape. Maintenance said they would replace the air conditioner. They never did.
11) Most of the people who live here are terrible. They are the most inconsiderate bunch of thieves I have ever shared an apartment complex with. They throw their bags of garbage right next to the dumpster, like it's waaay too hard for them to make the extra effort to actually get it INTO the dumpster. They throw their cigarette butts all over, they leave their dog crap all over, they break the doors in the buildings, they leave the laundry rooms a mess, they're loud, they leave garbage on their decks so when the wind blows, it goes all over the grounds.
12) EVERY TIME IT RAINS HEAVILY OR THE SNOW MELTS, OUR MASTER BEDROOM FLOODS!!!!!!! (As well as the back stairway which is right on the other side of the wall.) I've called management every time it's happened & they send the carpet cleaning people out to vacuum up the water & spray chemical deodorizing stuff on the floor. Unfortunately, they can't figure out what the actual problem is, which means it will continue to happen whenever it rains or when the snow thaws.
The ONLY reason we stayed there was because we couldn't afford to pay the $1795 it would cost to get out of our lease. Plus, we would lose the $600 security deposit we had to pay. We ended up leaving a month and a half early and paying for the entire month we weren't there. The place was THAT bad.
Getting our security deposit back is our newest hassle. According to the lease, they have 30 days to return it to us. We moved out on June 15th but since our lease wasn't up until July 31st, we had to wait till then for them to run the paperwork. Even after that, they waited 2 weeks to submit the paperwork. As of right now, they're on day 29 & we still haven't seen it. Tomorrow is the last day. I'll update as to whether or not we receive it.

That cable system is actually one big dish located at your complex and runs into the cable lines. They call it provision or vision system something like that. Us people at weston park over on park ave. have the same garbage. The complex gets some of that money we pay for that same crap.

This is possibly the most ACCURATE review of Timberland Pointe. I'm a college student so after living in the dorms, my standard of living had become more lax. However, this apartment complex has somehow beat out dorms on being the worst place to stay. The air conditioning system sucks. The living room will be cold but the rest of the apartment is hotter than it is outside. The heat is horrible and the tap water smells like somebody threw a bunch of chemicals in the source to "cleanse" it. The showers are never a constant temperature, so you better be ready to jump in and out like you're playing double dutch or else you'll be burned from the scalding water or freeze from the icy dew that comes out. The hallways smell like dog crap because people let their animals crap and don't pick it up. The lawns have a layer of dog crap that people don't have the courtesy to pick up. The parking isn't the greatest, especially when it snows. Good luck getting out in the morning if you park closer to the bottom. They do not plow the parking areas that great...there always seems to be a 3inch surface of snow on top of an inch of ice. & for the walls being paper thin....that is an understatment. It seems there are no walls at all with all the sounds you can hear from upstairs and next door. I can hear people leaving messages on my neighbors answering machine (their living room is located right next to my bedroom) and as far as upstairs...let's just say I can hear them making up after an argument (& you can hear what they argued about as well).
I can NOT wait to move out of here, but as the others have said, I can't afford to break my lease. I DO NOT recommend this apt complex to others, unless you have no other choice.
