This is my experience for a studio apartment. Rent for a basic studio apartment is 485$$.
I moved in to Wakonda Village at about Christmas time. The process of getting into a place was easy and painless. The managers and staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us with any questions we had since it is our first time renting. They showed us the actual apartment we were going to stay in, not just a model. As we were walking through, we asked questions, tried a few things (all lightswitches, faucets, et cetra), and were greatly satisfied with what we saw. So, we moved in.
Here's the living experience. We move in and everything is fine. As we start to unpack and get settled we started noticing a few things that were wrong/inconviences that we had missed when we walked through. Kitchen for starters has no room for more than one person and even that is pushing it. There are no drawers for silverware. hand towels, or anything of that sort. Some of the handles were loose and just twirled around when you try and grab them. Cabinents are a bit old in the apartment we got and they definately look it. Next thing we missed was the shower. We turned the water on to make sure we had hot water but didnt check the shower. The water pressure here is Horrendous! Usually at most you get a dribble out of the shower head. Water turns from extremes very easy and very often. Turning on anything that invovles water shifts the temp. Insulation is horrible also. Our bill runs around 105 for a studio. The window dont just leak in air, you might as well just have it open. The walls are also a little on the thin side.
Maintanace is, for the most part, good. They are timely and quick. You can't call the problem or you call usually wont be heard but if you go to the office and tell them personally, it will be same day help.
Upkeep is good. No garbage around at all. Green grass, trees, a pleasant sight. Friendly neighbors. Great workout center and business center. There are 3 computers but during the day, kids seem to take them and hold on to them for 2 or 3 hours or longer. Lighting outside at night could be alittle better but its adequete. No fights at night, no breaking-ins to my knowledge. Nice and peaceful. No bugs or infestation either.
All in all. Be careful. This is only regarding the studio apartments since i have not been into anything else. Based on this they all probably have the same problems.
