Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
We moved into Wakonda in May 2007 and started noticing problems from the first day. The largest problem was our neighbor. One night he started pounding on the floor screaming and making animal sounds. This scared me enough that I called the police to have them check on my neighbor. The story I was told was that he was having seizures, but from my personal experience with him he could control when and for how long he could have them. This problem was reported to management multiple times and was never addressed and had to resort to calling the police at all hours of the night. Problem was never resolved. DO NOT MOVE INTO --------OR ----------. At the same time we noticed that we had a mold problem developing in our bathroom. We always kept the door open and window open and still had mold growing. We reported the problem and the solution we were given by management was to paint over it. When we moved out the ceiling was black and the walls were starting to change color - I have recently stopped by and it seems they have repainted the bathroom warning to all future renters. The toilet also leaked in this bathroom and was reported and nothing was done. When these problems were not resolved I reported our apartment to the health department due to my wife alergies to the mold. The windows are in very poor condition and helps very litte in the winter weather. I used board insulation in our bedroom to cover the window and this improved the temp of the room and stayed up all winter. The kitchen is very small and many of the appliances are small as well. In -- we gained a gas leak in our stove that I reported to management. When they didn't fix the problem I reported it to ---------- and Wakonda was forced to fix it that day. They did this while I was at work and drilled out our locks to gain enterence into our apartment and then didn't give us keys to enter that night. Had to go to office 5 minutes before they closed to get a way into our apartment. This was not the only time they entered our apartment without our permission. My wife came home from work early one day to find a maintence guy in our bedroom, we still are not sure why he was in our apartment. They will show you a model of the apartment which is nice but make sure to see the exact unit you will be renting and make sure it is a remodeled unit. We asked to see the basement and they said they didnt have a key to enter. It is dark and dirty and you will not want to do your laundry down there, many times I had to pull dog hair our of the washer before I could even use it. The grounds are nice and if you can get a fully redone unit it may be worth the money but stay away from ---------- - I warned any residents that I could when they were looking at the unit and I know management wont share any of the information about this guy. Good luck and do not rent a apartment from ---------- or -- gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7
