Looks are deceiving. This place is full of crime!

The biggest problem I've had with Weston Park is the crime. My car has been broken into twice (windows shattered, everything stolen & ripped up) and vandalized once (hit with another car purposely, windows broken w/ tire iron) and my roommate's car was broken into once. I also have witnessed car break-ins, know of apartment windows being broken and have called 911 at least 3 times while living here. In fact, the police are *very* familiar with the area and it's almost a running joke. The parking lots are not well lit and are always overcrowded with cars that are run down or have been broken into.
The fellow tenants are sketchy, at best. In fact, I found our neighbor on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry website!
The maintainance staff is speedy and polite but never fixes the problem adequately. Our air conditioning has never worked (when we complained, we were always given new filters!) and the dryers don't work either. And less than a month after moving in, my bathroom ceiling caved in entirely.
There are bugs. Not roaches or anything obscene, but the beetles and spiders are abound! Being so close to a wooded area (near Water Works park) has its disadvantages!
The apartment complex seems so appealing because the rent is reasonable, the grounds are beautifully kept and there are great ammenities like the fitness center and pools. The rooms are very spacious and the decks are a great bonus, too. But the bottom line is... it's NOT worth it!
