Crappy Apartments

I thought the apartment was quite dirty when we moved in. There was a lot of dirt on the carpet and a bunch of melted candle wax even though the carpets had supposedly been cleaned. The decor was old and '70s style, and the kitchen floor had gouges out of it. We didn't have too many problems that required maintenance, but for routine stuff, maintenance people/pest control would always show up unannounced and unlock the door. They walked in while I was sleeping or in the shower more than once. The air conditioner only cooled the living room and not any of the rest of the apartment. My roommate and I cleaned the apartment from top to bottom and followed all of AUR's instructions plus more when we moved out. The place was in much better condition than when we moved in. We were still charged about $170 out of our deposit for "cleaning." I called and asked why and no one would tell me why. I would not rent from them again and neither would my friends.
