My wife and I had to move suddenly to IC due to job change and only had one day in town to find a place. It was the worst decision.

1) They don't have AC or central heat. Instead they have a water-based "heating and cooling system" that humidifies the whole house and changes the temperature only a few degrees. The extra humidity wasn't worth the change in temp so we've gone the whole year without it. In the summer, it is so miserable that we accomplish nothing productive so if you're a student or a young professional, forget about studying.

2) The walls leak condensation constantly. Every room in the house has black mold growing on the walls, ceilings and floors. Your furniture and electronics will be ruined.

3) Check the daily crime report online. The vast majority of crime except for the public intox downtown comes from Lakeside. Drug and violent crime is normal. We won't let our kids play outside without one of us being there at all times.

4) Repeatedly requested items such as the vent for the stove to be fixed and it never was.

5) Cockroaches crawling out of the walls.

6) Loud neighbors out on the streets so loud you can't sleep and I can sleep through anything.

7) Kids running around unsupervised throwing rocks at each other and hitting the cars.

8) Cars continually getting dinged doors from other inconsiderate drivers.

Basically, the whole place is a dump and there are many other decent options in town that you shouldn't have to suffer like this.
