These people are a joke! They charge a ton of money for apartments that are in terrible shape. I had a situation where my original roommate decided to change schools, and they wouldn't let me out of the lease even if I got a one bedroom through them still. Then to make matters worse, I just moved in at the apartment, and it was filthy. The carpet looks like it is from 1973 and is so worn that the cushioning underneath it is completely flattened (basically feels like walking on concrete). The whole apartment needed to be repainted, and it hasn't been still. There were coffee stains all over the kitchen floor, and every single closet had smudges and scuffs all over. Lastly, the people they have working there are horrible with talking to you. They either treat you like you're an idiot, or they just want to be an ------- to you for some reason. There is only one nice person there that I have ever met. If you ever are looking for an apartment in downtown Iowa City, make sure that it's not connected to Apartments Downtown, or whatever they call themselves.
