I spent three years here in a two bedroom apartment, and I would definitely recommend Westgate Villa to other people. The bedrooms and living rooms are larger than you usually find in Iowa City apartments, and there is one washer/dryer per 6-apartment building. (If yours is busy you can always go next door.) The neighborhood is much quieter than other student areas like S. Johnson St.--I lived on the top level and didn't get much noise from the other apartments.

There is only one reserved parking space per apartment, but quite a few guest spots and unrestricted parking on the street. The only problem I ever had was my car tires getting frozen in--so be careful about parking in the low end of the lot. The Iowa City bus (westwinds) goes right by the complex. There are two swimming pools that they take good care of, but they are usually busy on hot days.

The best things I can say about Westgate Villa, though, are about how good the staff is. The manager is very friendly and even helped me find a roommate after mine moved out, and the maintenance people are so prompt that they apologize if they can't get there the same day that you call (for non-emergencies!). Maybe my expectations were just low after a summer in an AUR apartment, but I was very happy with Westgate. They never charged me for any maintenance work, and I got my whole security deposit back without having to steam clean the carpet.
