The maintenance crew (-----) is a former drug addict, has been arrested for drunk driving. The manager is a total -----. The tenants are all on chapter 19 and welfare and are destroying the place. A tenant was arrested there for starving her child to death. Numerous drug busts happen all the time there. Police are constantly patrolling the place.

Personaly, our maintainence guy or anyone in general's past is none of you G- D- Business. ----- is a very hard working employee and quite honestly the only responciable maintaince guy we have had around here. (and a great person!) And ALLLLL the tenents are on Chapter 19? Really? Because last time I checked my check book stated I pay 865.00 a month to live here you moron. I have been here for 3 and a half years. And yeah, it is rough around the edges at times but you are out of line. The child that was "Starved to death" and the mother that was "Arrested?" Well, guess what I was here. The poor child had IDS (Immune difficentcy syndrom) and she could not keep food down. She was not starved, the Mother was released of all charges and is it so painfully unfortunate that she passed. But you lack of respect and insults are not productive. (and sick) Yes, police patrol the place all the time, and I am thankful for that. And there are too many kids (teenagers) unsupervised and running amouk. But you cannot hold 1 manager accountable for things that happen here. She does her best with what she has to work with and if you would get your head out of your back side long enough to breath you would see that. Apparently that isn't an option for you. I suggest you get YOUR FACTS straight before you start slandering people. Oh...AND MOVE!

----- was a very nice guy. It's unfortunate that he left but the new maintenance guys they have are very friendly and know what they're doing. I don't think you really know what Chapter 19 is... If you want to act better than everybody else maybe you should know your S**t first. There are some people here on Section 8 but that doesn't mean anything. Someone who is disabled and can only get SSI is going to need help making a rent payment. BEING DISABLED DOESN'T MAKE THEM A BAD PERSON!!! Last time I checked there haven't been any "drug busts" since I've been here. Maybe 1 in the entire history of the place but that doesn't make it managements fault. THATS WHY THEY GET EVICTED WHEN THAT HAPPENS. If you think you are so perfect then why the h*ll are you renting anyways? Go buy a house in West Des Moines you uppity b!!ch

I support the original post. We have lived here for a year and think it is overpriced and trashy. About the mother who starved her child to death...that WAS her fault, she did not take her child to the hospital, which is a mother's duty if her child is sick. Also, it is our business if the maintenance guy is a drug addict...because we allow them into our homes. Not to mention people are entirely inconsiderate when it comes to smoking, because people will smoke in their homes which leak into ours. We don't want that crap in our house. As soon as we can afford to get a house, we'll be out of here.

Well, I guess everyone can judge a book by it's cover. I have lived here a year now and like it. There is some lower class and some middle class people,EVERYONE is different and their ways of living are different. What might work for me may not work for you. ChapelRidge is better than alot of the low-income housing places in Des Moines. Also about the lady who starved her child, that is her business. About the maintance guy, that is his business. Take care of your home life first before YOU ALL judge someone elses. No one is perfect and if we all were life would be boring and just cause someone choses to live their life a certain way and might live or do things differently than you, don't judge them, you are'nt God and Chapel Ridge has been good to me and as a Survior of Domestic Violence I feel safe there. The Police do come and partol at least 10-20 times a day and park there to patrol things and watch the kids play. So grow up people and start taking care of your own home before judging someone elses. God don't like ugly.
