If you want a very small apartment this place is right for you. I was alarmed to view the two bedroom which was close to 780.00 a month, the price of my parents mortgage payment, for a tiny apartment. One of the few things they had that I liked the club house for birthday parties or family gatherings cost an extra 45.00 a night.
This is Norwalk not West Des Moines. There is like two restaurants, a dollar general (that doesn t take a couple of the major credit cards) Why are the prices so high. The apartment was tiny and the hallways are not enclosed so in the winter its freezing when you walk up three flights of stairs with grocery s or hot in the summer.
The pool was small and you re expected to pay heat and water as well as a high rent.
From what I've seen and visiting friends who are miserable that live there. This place is not worth the high rent.
The only thing good I can say is that maintenance seemed adequate but that is expected anywhere.
Also when viewing the manager lacked knowledge on alot of things. I like living in Norwalk its quite, but I'm not going to pay 100-200 more a month for something I can get 10 miles over in Des Moines for less.

A quiet small town feel is one of my favorite things about Norwalk! It??????s so close to everything, like you said it??????s just 10 minutes away. There are times I have gone from one place in West Des Moines to another in West Des Moines and it has taken me nearly double that time. My apartment is nearly 1,050 sq ft and I LOVE it. The utilities are so low; I have not paid over $65.00 per month for my electric bill. Some places I??????ve lived they have been over $250.00 per month! I??????m not sure how long ago you dealt with a manager in the office but the new Manager is always helpful, she has dropped packages off to me when I??????m unable to make it during office hours, called to make sure my maintenance issues had been resolved and always has a smile. I love it here at High Pointe!

I also don't understand the complaint, small at over 1000sq I don't think so!! Energy efficent, much more than any place I have lived and much much better than my friend's bill for 1 bedroom apartment in either Polo Club or my other friend's at Turtle Creek!! While people do pay more to live in places more popular I choose to live somewhere which was built much better!! If some people would do more research they would find the value per square foot of living space per assessed value of the property, for the rent is almost 3 times better than anything in Polk, Dallas, or Warren counties; don't believe me do your own research on the assessor's websites for all three counties, all you need is the address of the property!! The value of my 1026 sq dr apartment which costs $800 a month is $80,000, the value of my friend's 1 bedroom 750sq dr apartment with rent of $800 a month at Turtle Creek is $26,000...where would you rather live??

I am just moving into HighPointe the first of March. When I rented, the persons I worked with could not have been more helpful. They worked with my move schedule, I got the apartment I wanted with a garage almost directly across from my entrance, and everyone has been wonderful working via phone for my move in preparations. I am moving from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago (Rolling Meadows) and pay $1050 for a 1000 sq ft townhouse that has no garage, no washer/dryer (therefore laundry costs between $20-30/mo) and is very noisy. I also pay between $50-$75 for 'utilities', i.e. sewer, water, trash, heating, service fee. The whole thing is a joke to me as I pay it to the apartment complex. My new apartment at HighPointe is 2 bedroom, washer/dryer, and garage for $855. How does one complain about that? I looked at many, many apartments in West D.M., Clive, the whole west side (including Turtle Creek, Polo Club, The Loft, and several others, and I found only Turtle Creek of the same quality, however, much more expensive ($1150 two bedroom townhouse). I am very excited about my move (just hope I can get everything ready before the movers arrive). If my new apartment is even half as good as I think it will be it will be twice as good as what I now have and I'll be extremely happy!
