When I moved to St. Andrews it did not feel like an apartment complex--it was truly a community. That was back when the people who lived here were still referred to as "neighbors" (we are now condescendingly referred to as TENANTS). Back then, management still paid attention to all the small details that made these ordinary apartments feel like homes. I am one of many long-term residents who thought I'd never leave...until new management took over.
Yes, its true--people don't like change, and you can't always please everyone. But what happened here goes beyond minor differences of opinion about how things ought to be done. The new management doesn't just have DIFFERENT priorities--she has the WRONG priorities. How else could you explain the mass exodus of longterm residents, inability to retain staff and contractors, and the fast turnover of new residents'
Once known for personal service and attention to detail, this apartment complex is quickly becoming a slum. The buildings are dirty and maintenance requests are ignored. The kind of people that management now caters to are not the kind of people that make good neighbors.
Management is constantly on the defensive. If you try to talk with her about anything, she is either condescending or she throws a temper tantrum.
Don't be fooled by the pretty landscaping as you drive by. Go to the back of the complex and look at the unkempt, dead grass, mudslides and potholes--then you'll have a better idea of what this place is really like.
If you're thinking of moving here, keep looking. You'll get a better value for your money virtually anywhere else.
