I have lived in the Normandy Terrace Apartments for a few months, my wife has lived here for more than a year. In the past, my wife (then fiance) rented an upstairs apartment. One night she was sleeping and was woke up by the sound of water dripping from the ceiling in her bedroom. She informed the staff of the issue the next day and their resolve was that there was a hole in the roof, their fix...placed a 5-gallon bucket under the leak that usually filled every 4 hours needing to be dumped by her. The problem comtimued and she continued to inform. At one point they did come in and "fix" the problem, only to have it continue in less than a week.

They moved her out of that apartment and moved her to a midlevel unit. We kind of like the unit, however we have the worst neighbors upstairs one can imagine. They allow their dog to run nonstop and they are frequently the cause by joining in on the running, if you don't believe me, come over for coffee some night. If this was the only issue about the upstairs nusence I could probably live with it, but you can hear many many many other things going on upstairs.

The parking at the complex is nothing short of pathetic. We sometimes have to park 4 and 5 units away from ours, even one time having to park in the nearby Hy-Vee parking lot because there was no spots availible. At other places I have lived in the DSM area we were required to have parking permits, not the cas at Normandy Terrace. The driveways frequently get potholes creating additional havoc and headache to the parking situation, although they do fix MOST of them in the spring time.
