A note to anyone who lives at Sun Prarie or in thinking about moving there:
These apartments offer and advertise their "Electric Guarantee". My roommates and I were told upon lease signing that there is this great thing called electric guarantee, and you will never have to pay more than "x" amount of dollars per oonth on your electric bill. BEWARE!
We were told that when you move out we were to bring our statements from Mid American Energy to the leaseing office, and we would get a refund for anything we paid OVER the electric guarantee. However, upon arrival, we are notified that the guarantee is ONLY if you bring down your LAST 12 consecutive months bills and it is EXACTLY 12 MONTHS FROM WHEN YOU MOVED IN! Apparently it is written somewhere in the lease, however, the staff is very good at NOT mentioning you only have a timeframe to submit your electric bills, and if you miss it, tough crap. They get away with being able to advertise ELECTRIC GUARANTEE. They really should have * next to that advertisement so people understand FULLY at the time of lease siging, because none of us recall being told that there was a deadline to submit such papers. Alot of fine print. Im just here to REMIND everyone to NOT miss your date, and miss out on getting alot of money back. :)

I would say this person is completely accurate in what they are saying. Sun Prairie employees try to get out of everything they promise to residents. Trust me I lived there at one point and would NEVER live there again.

This resident makes some very good points about knowing what you are signing, knowing all the terms of your lease and the rules that go along with that. The electric guarantee is a one page ADDENDUM that is signed separately by all tenants. So to say it is somewhere in the lease is just not correct. I understand how frustrating it can be to "miss a deadline" but there is a reason we require submission within 30 days after your intial 12 full billing cycles. If there is an overage or the total annual expense is "out of whack", then we need to investigate why. There may be an appliance that is malfuntioning, or the resident has a freezer in the living room. I would have to say that these comments are not accurate at all.
