Although they are advertised a ??luxurious?? you realize once you move in that you??ve been scammed. They reel you in by showing off th beautiful landscaping and model apartments, but that??s not what your getting. It??s what??s on the inside that counts, and most people who lived there will tell you it??s a dump.

From the moment I moved in problems started arising. Here a just a few examples of what my neighbors and I put up with:
*Severe bug issues??mainly ants and cockroaches
*Cabinets falling off the walls
*Drafty windows and doors that don??t shut properly
*Terrible parking (unless you have the money to pay for an attached garage)
*Pipes bursting in the winter due to a lack of Extremely high utility bills??expecially in the winter (probably also due to a lack of proper insulation). In fact, a Mid-American employee told me Turtle Creek??s bills are the highest in West Des Moines in terms of the square footagge.
*Deposits not being returned. Also people get charged for things that are the result of the poor construction


The worst part about the whole experience was the treatment I received from the on-site manager and the Richdale Corporation. Instead of offering adequate compensation they told me my apartment was the only one having difficulties, which I knew from talking to my neighbors was untrue. Instead, they promised up and down to fix all my problems but never actually did. When I tried to voice my complaints to the Richdale Corp they would only tell me what I wanted to hear, and would pass me back to the worthless WDM employees.

The fact that this place is still doing business despite its awful reputation really upsets me. What upsets me even more is that people unknowingly pay lots of money to move in not realizing what they are getting themselves into. Sure there might be people who live there who aren??t experience problems, but they are the minority!

If you want to pay a lot of money for something that looks good on the outside, but is a total dump on the inside this is the place for you. Otherwise keep away!
