I both loved and disliked Turtle Creek, so you have to decide for yourself what's important to you before deciding to move there.

PROS: Love the location. Very convenient to I-35 and I-80, lots of great shopping very close by. Quiet, safe neighborhood. Controlled access to building. Loved having a garage attached to the building--very convenient with lots of storage space. Always ample lot parking for guests, too. Office staff was ALWAYS, without exception, very friendly and eager to address my concerns. They always made me feel like a valued tenant. The amenities were great. Beautiful, well-appointed, spacious kitchen and bathroom. Loved the glass top stove and garbage disposal in the kitchen, and the huge vanity in the bathroom. TONS of closet space. Storage unit on patio very helpful. Top notch fitness room, with great equipment, racquetball court, and sauna.

CONS: My unit had a silverfish problem from day 1. They'd send in pest control and all would be well for a few weeks, but soon enough I was seeing silverfish every day again. I never left food out and kept my apartment very clean, but there were still tons of silverfish and spiders. There was broken glass in my patio storage unit when I moved in. My garage door didn't work when I moved in; maintenance quickly fixed, but the problem occurred two more times. The water heater never got hot enough. My first few showers after move-in were ice cold. They kept sending in maintenance and it got a little better, but I never got more than 10 minutes of warm (not hot) water. Dryer never dried the clothes on the first cycle; always had to run it twice. I didn't appreciate that the pool was always like a big frat party, crowded with college kids, beer, and loud music. If that's your thing, then that's a plus for you, but it wasn't very relaxing for me. I don't fault the management company for that, because many of the tenants are twentysomethings, but it's worth pointing out.

VERDICT: If it weren't for the ongoing maintenance issues, I'd give this property a rave review. You're never going to find a place that is absolutely perfect, and Turtle Creek is no exception. However, if what you value most is a high-end living space in a great location, this might still be the place for you.
