I lived in Wellington from Nov 1999-Nov 2000. I know it was awhile ago, but it looks as if things haven't changed much in 7 years. When I was there they would never plow the snow...we had to shovel our own walkways! At that time they had 1 piece of crap 1960's style tanning bed that they bragged about which I caught some sort of a skin fungus from that required a topical cream to heal. My doctor said it was commonly caused by unsanitary tanning booths. Our washing machine also overflowed due to a malfunction of some sort...I've never seen a worse washing machine than the crap they offer there. In the winter, I actually had to duct tape around my window seals on all windows b/c the snow would blow in through the window cracks and leave a pile on the sill and the floor that my cat would play in. The drafts were horrendous, and our utility bills were astronomical. A few years later, I had a boyfriend who lived there, I believe it was 2003. Inevitably, I was staying there quite a bit and it brought back horrible memories. The upstairs neighbors were asian, and cooked with some sort of curry every day. The smell permiated one of the bedroom closets, stinking up the clothing. They also were too lazy to take their cat litter to the dump, so they just poured it off their balcony, onto his. Some of the tenants are questionable, the upkeep is horrible...it is just as bad as Sun Prairie as far as I'm concerned. It is truly a ghetto in West Des Moines.

Yeah back about 40,000 years ago I lived in this cave for a whole year.I didn't like it so much. I got cold,had to walk in the snow,fake tan wasn't working for me and my neighbor boiled dinosaur eggs that made my fur coveralls in my closet smell.Not to mention the nest of condors above my cave entrance always leaving a mess for me to clean.I finally moved out. A few years later I had a girlfriend who lived there. Inevitably I was staying there quite a bit against my will of course, and it brought back horrible memories. Now I'm at sun prairie bitching and complaining about apartments rather than owning a home.
