Not worth the hassle.

DO NOT RENT AT... YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY, TIME, AND SAFETY! The civic plaza was the first place I moved to out of highschool. I lived in two different apartments there and both were such a PAIN. The rent is cheap yes... They are low income so the application process takes such a ridiculous amount of time, they charge a non-refundable holding fee to put you on the WAIT list for an apartment (other communities will simply call you when they have an availability and invite you to come in and put down your holding deposit at that time.) The apartment bedrooms are very small. In the larger bedroom of the 2 bedroom you are able to cram in a queen size bed and a SMALL dresser. The closets look big, but don't give you much hanging space. The kitchen has a nice layout, but we did have a few maintenance issues that took a bit of time to get anyone to fix. The worst part about living there are the paper thin walls. You can constantly hear your neighbor next to you, whenever anyone is walking down the hallway, and also when anyone's door is opened or closed. The Parking garage is nice if you have only one person living in an apartment or you have only one car. They provide only one key card per apartment and one parking space. If you have two cars you have the option of parking on Avenue A in front of Winco, or ummm... where else'' There is no other close parking! Everyone in the complex would park in the Win-Co Parking lot, included the on-site managers! Guess what... WIN-CO towed all of the cars there one random day, including the managers!... Where are you supposed to park''' The key card is a joke as well as the securitized doors. Half the time the door to the hallways was left open or ajar for people coming in, anyone can beep the door open, so who knows what other people are letting in. Also while living there, the police were there quite a bit, Also as said in an earlier review the fire alarms go off NON-STOP. Countless times at 3 or 4 in the morning the alarms would be either pulled, or just GO OFF for no reason at all. You then have the choice of sitting in your apartment listening to an insecantly loud beeping for 30 minutes or longer, or outside in front of the building waiting for the fire department to walk the entire complex for a fire. Isn't fun if you work a day job and have to be to work early in the morning! Upon Move Out, our full security deposit was taken, although we moved out early enough to come back and completely clean our apartment, and were also charged for some markings on a door noted on our inspection sheet when we moved in! Not only were we charged, they never notifed me or my roommate at the time that we owed money and sent us to collections! The staff was AWFUL, always rude and inconsiderate, never returning phone calls. Overall, the Civic Plaza is a joke of an apartment community.
