I lived at the Huntington Apartments for almost 2 years, and it was great. It was actually the second time I lived there, the first was for a year in 2004 or so. The office staff always took care of everything we needed right away. Julia (the manager) and Carrie (not sure as to her title) were fantastic. I think rent increased by $10 at the most after a 6 month lease, but it may have been only $5; frankly that's less than inflation.

The only occasional complaint we had was people that would be loud after hours - while it isn't so much a college party complex, there was sporadic social gatherings that were loud after 10. The staff delivers a noise warning after complaints and usually the same people don't do it twice because after 3 warnings you're evicted. Obviously, this isn't the fault of the staff nor buildings, just a testament to the increasingly inconsiderate and selfish mentality around the country.

Overall, I enjoyed my time there, and the only reason I moved was because I bought a house. I was a little tired of walking up to the third story with groceries!

Maintenance was fantastic, they were always willing to help us out right away. It was rare that we needed any repairs because the state of the apartment was quite nice, but stuff happens. For example, birds nested in the exhaust of the dryer vent, so it couldn't blow the air out. The maintenance guy cleaned it out and installed a screen so that wouldn't happen again. They were always really nice and considerate.

I would highly recommend The Huntington Apartments in Boise!

Regarding the complaints from other reviews on this site:

They do NOT indicate whatsoever that they pay all your utilities - it is very obvious up front that you pay for your electric (heating and air) because you have to call or fill out a form to get it turned on. You also pay for your water, which you have to fill out a form to get running, which indicates you're paying for it. You'd have to be a total moron not to realize that it's your fiscal responsibility.

The buildings were not in a state of disrepair as previously indicated; they are some of the nicest apartments available, without a much higher cost than the slum apartments. If they wanted to have extremely high-end materials, they should expect to be paying a lot more and frankly - I don't need high-end materials in lieu of affordable rent.

The staff are absolutely not liars, cheats, etc - they could not have been nicer and more accommodating. We never had a single issue with any of the staff, at all, ever. Even when we moved out to our new house, they were incredibly helpful and friendly. There was no problems with them trying to charge us for repairs or anything because we actually cleaned the place and kept it nice - perhaps these complaints were from people that expected the staff to clean up after them instead of leaving the apartment as nice as it was when they moved in'!

This review is a crock. It sounds like someone who works here, and I am pretty sure the maintenance mans name is Mark...
