Horrible Experience, like prison you pay for with a lease!

Don't be fooled by the pool, waterfalls into the hot tub, or the "state-of the art theater", this place is overpriced for the extreme lack of service you get.
My lease is ending next month,(July '05), and we are in an unfortunate crunch for money; probably because I have spent almost a dollar per square foot on our tiny apartment, and we are about $75 short of being able to pay our last month's rent, so today I attempted to make payment arrangements with them to pay 8 days late and I was brushed off as someone not willing to pay at all by the local manager "Anna", I was told she would call me back 3 times in one day, with no response until 4 hours after the first initial call. She simply and rudely stated that we would pay a $75 late fee if we did that, and then went on to tell me that she had evicted residents over that $75 late fee. I would believe that, considering one month my pay schedule changed leaving me with very little money one pay period, so we made a call to the office and made an arrangement to pay 10 days late with someone named "Brooke" well 3 days after rent was due, we came home to a 3-day eviction notice on our door. so after that we decided to write a formal (written) complaint since all verbal complaints had been brushed off and not noted as we were told, and they responded with a pre-written reply that did not mention any of our concerns, mainly the 8 undocumented (not documented on their part) noise complaints about the upstairs neighbors that kept a barking dog chained up on their outside patio all day and night.
Overall we are EXTREMELY happy to be leaving in a month; in fact it could not come any sooner.
Everyone I have ever talked to that has rented there or knows someone who has, has had a bad experience, especially when it comes to customer service and the professionalism of the on-site staff/managers.

So here is an update on the continuing experience: The Renaissance at Hobble Creek has failed to refund my deposit within 30 days of vacating the premises as agreed upon in my lease agreement, in fact it is going on 35 days now, and no one is able to give me any information as to where my check is. I have been able to verify that I am due a refund, but where it is, I have no clue. I plan to pursue this in small claims court, where I have been informed that in my situation, I may be able to get up to 3 times the amount due, since their negligence may result a late fee with my current apartment, I guess I should have never actually expected anyone at this place to comply with their own agreements.
This all goes to show you, don't trust their word, all they do is lie to get you in and lie to get you out. I feel like I bought a lemon from a dealership, and they up and left town the next day.
Wish me luck, and good luck to any future sucker that gets stuck in a lease with this terrible company.
Of course not all experiences will be the same, it all depends on how you are treated, you may have a good experience with this overpriced complex, or you may have a bad one like mine. My rating is intended to inform any future residents of the inconveniences I ran into while dealing with this place.
To clear up a statement made by another reviewer: read my review closely and you can see that I experienced changes in the payroll system of my employer, making it so I was unable to pay rent on time; I did the responsible thing and notified them (The Renaissance) of such, but they were not responsible and failed to note any such call (according to my copy of my rental history obtained from them for legal purposes). Read carefully before you respond so you do not discredit your intelligence. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ

If you read my review I almost had an issue with the refunding of the deposit myself! They waited two days before their 21 day period-legally stated by idaho law-to tell us that corporate issued the check and then when i asked what day they issued the check i was told they did not know the exact issue date. I told them to call an accountant and find out or that we would be suing accordingly. Low and behold they figured it out today and are overnighting our checks to us by tomorrow (at least we hope so). I am curious to know how the dispute with your situation was followed through...any luck with getting your deposit back??
