Terrible Place to Live- DONT DO IT

I mistakedly lived at Renaissance for over 2 years. When I moved in, it was a spur of the moment move from another state, and this seemed like a nice place to live (not having much of an opportunity to look around at other places). Upon moving in, I was supposed to receive a free month for signing a one year lease- which I thought I received, until AFTER I moved out. I also paid a deposit equivalent to 1 month of rent. I lived there for 2 years with noisy neighbors, parties happening in the apartment above me nightly, my parking spot being parked in by everyone but me, and EXTREMELY RUDE office personnel. Whenever there was an issue it took them days, sometimes even weeks to return my calls. This demonstrates the true character of the office, as well as their corporate office: I lived there for 2 years, the second year being OFF of a lease so I paid $100 more a month; when I moved out they charged their normal carpet cleaning fees, so I patiently awaited my refund for the deposit I paid that was equivalent to 1 month of rent. About 2 months later I received a letter from their corporate offices saying I OWED THEM money! I called them back and wrote them a letter asking what happened to my deposit- did anyone call me back or write me back' NO WAY! I continued calling and writing letters until one day I received a letter from a collection agency asking that I pay the money- are you kidding me'! These people have the audacity to tell ME to pay them when I sent several letters with my receipt of deposit paid and did not get ANY reply. They only contact when they feel it is necessary. Over a year later- this is still unresolved. The dispute has been filed with the collection agency, but suprisingly enough the company has yet to contact me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE THEIVES AND LOW CLASS CITIZENS.

Sounds very similar to my situation. When I lived there I had a really awful roommate that skipped out in the middle of the night and never heard from him again. When I finally moved out I removed the posters i had in the living room to find a 18 inch long GASH in the wall that was about 2-3 inches deep compliments of my exroomate. When it came time to talk about deposit they refused to return it PLUS they charged me somewhere in the neighborhood of $1200 to fix the wall, paint the apartment and change out the carpet (which was btw brand new when I moved in. I didn't allow people to wear shoes in the apartment and it still got ruined, obviously very poor quality carpet).
I tried explaining that they needed to talk to the roommate because he was the one responsible for the damages but they refused to listen. Eventually the management's corporate headquarters got involved and a very nasty, pushy man started calling me almost daily threatening me to pay immediately with a CC (which I refuse to have) or face legal action. Offered no payment plan or alternative or anything. I had to threaten HIM with harassment charges if he didnt stop hounding me.
These people are complete and utter SNAKES, avoid this place like the plague. I warned everyone I know not to move here but a friend still did anyway and he regrets it and wishes he had listened to me.

I had a roommate skip on me once too, but unfortunately I agreed to be resonislbe for the apartment when I signed the lease so I had to pay for everything. Choose your roommates carefully.
