Overall, A Nice Place to Live - The buildings are well maintained. It is within walking distance to the U of I campus and has a bus stop right outside, so it makes transportation easy.
In the one bedroom that I lived in, I hardly ever has to turn the heat on (like $40/month at most, usually $25). The downside was that in the summer it was freakishly hot.
Our neighboors were friendly but private. In my ...Full review of Smith Conrad Aparartments

Rude, Unresponsive Management - The apartments are pretty basic, nothing special but decent. But several times we had problems that needed addressed and the managers just wouldn't get back to us. No responses to emails, etc. In my opinion, it's a *must* to be able to reach someone and get a reply to a problem. Noise is a serious problem. The worst management I've ever encountered. ...Full review of McCoy Apartments

Not a bad place to live. - It's usally pretty nice there, although if you're not a smoker and hate the smell of tobacco smoke, the landlord won't do anything to help you. Apts are pretty reasonably sized, and windows and sliding glass doors are new. Watch out for crazy neighbors, though. Being subsidized, you get crazy (i.e. smelly, loud, trashy) neighbors once in a while. ...Full review of Hawthorne Village Apartments

Nice place, rude landlords The place is new and nice looking but if you get on the wrong side of the landlords, they are slow in helping you out.

Beware These used to be nice apartments. They are well constructed and reasonably well maintained. Look elsewhere, though, if you're looking for decent, safe housing. We have terrible neighbors. There is constant traffic all night, people staying five minutes and leaving.

Nice basic appartments Nothing fancy but nothing lacking either. Reasonable size, good construction, nice staff, quiet street, close to the U of I (I was at the Almon st. site), walking distance to the whole town.
I can't think of anything bad about them. Worst I can come

Apartments are very well managed and friendly In spite of the previous negative reviews, McCoy Apartments management team was friendly, conscientious, and did its best to accomodate within the rules of tenancy. Because of warm evenings, and the windows having to be open, their

Great place, great people, month to month, cheap The aparment manager is awsome, she is so nice. I was living in my apartment with friends for three months before I signed onto the lease. The manager just mentioned that that was against the lease agreement, but happily and very

Nice apt - lousy management I lived there for quite a while. The apartments are a very good deal and fairly good size. Very large kitchens with lots of cabinets & decent size bedrooms. I had the extreme misfortune of living across from the manager. I here they recently got a new manager, but

Nice Aparments, Lousy Management The McCoys are nice and inexpensive, which is good for Moscow. There´s onsite laundry, and they´re clean and relatively new. So there´s that going for them.
Not so great, though, is that they´re far from campus for Moscow (1.75 miles). ..full review of McCoy Apartments
