If you value your safety and sanity do not move here.
I have been trapped here for almost a year.
Breaking the lease it to expensive but living here is almost unbearable.
The air conditioner does not work in the summer and it's truly like trying to live in oven.
The grounds are deceptively well kept.
What you don't tend to notice until you have been there a bit and spend a little time outside is that there are no restrictions on pets pooing all over the place.
Also the kids are kind of unsupervised a lot in the afternoons and evenings and are really noisy and rude.
You can hear right through the walls which can be annoying.
If you live in a downstairs apartment you hear people stomping overhead constantly.
There is no peace to be found here.
I find myself thinking up excuses to avoid coming home in the evenings.
I think most of the people who give this apartment glowing recommendations are people who like to send their kids out to run wild and just love to let their animals run all over the place relieving themselves on the sidewalks and wherever.
There is no other reasonable explination for their glowing recommendations.
Please for the love of God never consider coming here.

My husband and I have lived in Hyde Park since April 2008. I'm not sure what the above posting is referring to about animal droppings. According to our contract and that of each of our friends' we are not allowed to own a pet. The walls are a bit thin, but that's what comes with living in an apartment. Some of the 4plexes have air conditioning, others have ceiling fans, but the rest (ours included) only have heat. As for the kids, we don't have any, but this is a married complex with plenty of open grass. Kids will be running around. Your back yard is their backyard and they have a right to play. The only one who's being rude is the person not letting the kids live out their childhood. Others' kids playing in the grass should be a no-brainer when you move into a married student complex. We like it here. And the ward is great.

I really think this person accidentally reviewed the wrong complex. There are no pets allowed here, I have never seen one, let alone any "droppings". Also, this is the fourth apartment we've lived in in Rexburg, and it has the thickest walls yet. We hear hardly anything from our neighbors. Also, it could be that it is still early spring, but it's been warm and there aren't a ton of kids outside often. Those who ARE outside aren't that noisy at all. I also agree with the last poster, if you're going to move into a married complex, you should expect kids. Let them be kids.

I have been living in Hyde park for 4 years now and have NEVER EVER seen animal droppings outside. Animals aren't allowed in the complex at all, the only ones we see are stray cats here and there, but no droppings from them. and I'm outside a lot! I have 3 little ones and they are never unsupervised outside. There are a few older kids in the complex, but not many so they aren't that bad. I love Hyde park, I've actually lived here twice (left once, regretted it and came back) and never want to leave, except we are outgrowing our apt. I live downstairs, and of course we hear them walking around, but what downstairs apt isnt' like that? the walls are thick between the side apt. so we never hear our next-door neighbors (ever!) and just hear walking upstairs, or sometimes music, but you learn to live with that and ignore it. You sound like the kind of person that won't be happy with any apt. so don't go around giving bad reviews just because you are hard to please.
