Expensive with Terrible Service - Not Worth It

The worst thing about this apartment is the customer service. People in the leasing office only care about renting the rooms and collecting rent. They don't care about your living environment or any of your complaint. The following is a true story that happened to me.

On August 20, 2003, I took the elevator to 11th floor when I went home. The elevator was stuck on the 11th floor and made some horrible noise when I was inside alone. The door couldn't open and it was extremely hot and hard to breathe inside. The worst thing was that I didn't know what would happen to me. I even worried that the elevator would crash. I felt very nervous and terrified until the firemen come to get me out of there. It was a horrible experience for me and made me never feel comfortable again to take the elevator in my building.

I wrote my local leasing office an e-mail that night to ask for an explanation, but got no response at all. Therefore the next day I went to the leasing office to talk to the manager. She just told me she will call the elevator company, and then finished our conversation as quickly as possible. I got no apologies, and no guarantee that it won??t happen again. It seems nobody in my local leasing office wants to take the responsibility and nobody really cares.

I feel very bad about how I was treated by my local leasing office, especially when I pay so much to live there. Now I even have the fear to take the elevator in my building. Believe me, it??s very scary to be stuck in an elevator on the top floor.

Before you decide to move in, you need to realize that you have to take the dangerous elevator everyday unless you live under 5th floor. When they show you around the apartment, pay attention to the elevator noise and shaking. You will also notice that the elevator door can never close smoothly. I will not renew my lease in any case since I don't want to risk my life in such place. Please, take my advice, be careful before you make a decision to move in here.
