Nice location, but not worth the price

I'll start with the good, then go into the bad, including the time I got locked out of my apartment FOR AN ENTIRE NIGHT.

Good:
- Downtown location is great, easy to walk to everything from the Jewel to the train station.
- Washer/dryer in every unit.
- Maintenance has always responded promptly to my requests, except for once.
- My studio is VERY big.

Bad:
- Dryer doesn't work very well and towels take at least 2 hours to dry.
- They've been remodeling for what feels like a lifetime now. I wish they's finish!
- Rent is HIGH and no utilities are included, and my two-months-free rent special was only pro-rated for 6 months, not the entire year.
- I had a neighbor who really like to play the guitar and sing. When I was tring to go to bed.
- The noise from Arlington Hts. Road is unbearable during morning rush hour - forget sleeping with the windows open.
- The side entrance always smells a bit "ripe" if the garbage collectors haven't been by yet.
- The outdoor pool is never open until 9 p.m. like it's supposed to be.
- Forget about emergency maintenance. I locked myself out of my apt. at 10 p.m. on a Friday and repeatedly called the emergency pager from my cell. NO CALL BACK. The person with my extra key was on vacation. I had to sleep in a neighbor's (who I knew casually) apartment! When I complained to the property manager the next morning, I was told, "Sorry, our maintenance guy accidentally switched his pager to vibrate. I don't know what else to tell you." He was very unapologetic. All I wanted was a sincere apology and some money knocked off next month's rent. THAT didn't happen.

Bottom line: It's a great location, but the benefits do not outweigh the negatives. And the staff is more irritating than helpful

I usually don't bother to post anything on internet but I couldn't help it this time. I currently live at 200 Arlington Place and I couldn't agree with this author more...especially about the noise from Arlington Heights Rd.
