We paid a non-refundable deposit for amenities, which first of all can not be considered a deposit if we don't get it back. Its their slimy way of not calling it a fee. The amenitie fee was for the indoor pool, sauna, gym, etc. The sauna was removed and now we have the Chicago Swim Class being taught in the indoor pool. Sorry, I don't want to swim in a pool that is used 5 times a week by 20 6 year olds. Every apartment in the building runs of the same heating/cooling system. The managment decided to put in a new cooling system in April. We called to complain that it was 80 degrees out, and had no AC. Their excuse was it isn't typically this hot at this time of year. They had all winter to fix the system when there wasn't a chance of needing to use the air. Poorly managed at best. I had to tell them not to leave news letters in front of my door, but to put them under, therefore if I am out of town everyone does not have an obvious invitation break into my apartment. To me this is common sense. Do not rent here, you WILL regret it.

I couldn't have said it better. I'm moving out in about 2 months and I'm definitely not recommending this place to anyone I know...

the total deposit is split into two parts, the security deposit, which is refundable, and the common area FEE which is nonrefundable.
