Negatives far outweigh positives

Let me start by saying I'm a glass half-full, positive person. The place is nice but there are too many negatives about the place. To start with, it is WAY overpriced. If the rents were decreased by $300-500 per apartment then it might be ok. Even then the place is not great. Most of the negative reviews are not so much negative, they are accurate and truthful.
The Good:
The location, because it is right downtown, easy to walk to the train station and grocery store if need be. Space is decent, however, seems you should get a little more for your money inside noise is pretty good don't hear too much noise from the apartment next door, although if the stereo or tv next door are on loud you can hear it. Indoor and outdoor pool nice although they rent out the indoor pool for swim classes which basically means you can rarely use the indoor pool.
The Bad:
Quite a bit There is constant turnover in the staff (the best staff members always seem to leave.) They are not very responsive, not very receptive or friendly (except when it comes to signing a lease) in fact are border line rude, and they do not make you feel very welcome. The building manager is rarely around or if he is, doesn t seem to get things done other than the superficial updating that makes the outside and lobby of the building look better for prospective lessees it is superficial trust me. Seem to be cutting corners. Getting things repaired or fixed can take a long time and/or many requests often times they seem to forget about requests to have things repaired in your apartment.
The winter utility bills are EXTREMELY high even if you rarely utilize the heat. The utility bills are much higher than any other multi-unit building I have been in and I have asked around and they are higher than other peoples buildings as well. And, the utility bills are calculated in a bizarre manner based on number of people in your unit and square footage. It is rather warm in the building, even more so in the winter, yet the gas bill is high. When signing the lease, you will be told the utilities are normal even if you ask what they are for an apartment. They are not normal, they are high. If you are in the vacinity of a smoker it will infiltrate your apartment - and there are a few REALLY bad, heavy smokers. Be prepared for the outside noise trains going by and lots of sirens throughout the night because the fire station down the road and ambulance coming by frequently. Noise from outside is loud.
I m not a negative person just think everyone should have a complete perspective before deciding to live in a place. Recommendation unless you really want walking distance to the train, you might be better off looking elsewhere and getting much more for your money. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH

Absolutely true! This is a terrible place! If someone smokes in an apartment way down the hall, I can smell cigarette smoke in my apartment as though the smoker were standing next to me. The utility bills are GROSSLY out of whack. I have NEVER turned on my heat, ever, (on the 6th floor) and yet my GAS bill is 70 bucks. I don't use the dishwasher, I wash my clothes in cold water, and I shower at the gym. What's going on? RIPOFF. FRAUD. AND the indoor pool is used from 9-2pm, 4-8pm by a COMMERCIAL swimming school for little (pee in the pool) kids. I moved in here FOR the indoor swimming pool, and it not usable. PLUS the apartment owners charge 260/year fee for the 'amenities' (namely, the indoor pool) to each tenant. I am going to file a lawsuit against them, shortly.
