My boyfriend and I looked at a few places in the area and we liked Arbor Lakes the best. We still weren't sure but Helen told us they only had one 2 bedroom left and if we left a $150 check to hold the apartment they wouldn't cash it until they got our okay.
Well, they did cash the check right away and when I called to tell them we were not moving in (we bought a house) they said it's too late to get the money back. I even went in to talk to the manager (not very friendly anymore) and she said too bad. We didn't even sign a lease or anything.
Be forewarned: everything seemed great until this happened- in the 3 days when we looked at the apartment they had a staff member quit and Helen was swamped (alone) in the office. I am glad we didn't end up moving in or we may have gotten jipped out of even more money!
