I love the unexpected remodeling and wanted to comment on all that has been done. The much needed face lift has truely enhanced what Shalamar East already has going for it:
* Personalized attention from a friendly staff
* Extremly clean buildings and grounds which are well maintained
* Ample parking (unfortunately not covered, but lots are plowed regularly when needed)
* Prompt maintaince service
* Perfect, suburban yet central location that really saves on travel time
* Very low noise (except for an occasional loud plane)
* Convenient and clean laundry rooms
* Great water pressure!!!

Other renters are,for the most part, curteous and nice and I feel safe in this location with no major problems to note. While my old apartment at Shalamar East was nice and had lots of space and storage, I recently moved to an "upgraded" two bedroom unit. The remodeling inside of the apartments is as noteworthy as the outside: I now have beautiful granite counters, ceramic floors, and an affordable luxurious home. I will definately stay until I buy!!!

A couple comments about this article. First of all, they no longer have a on site friendly staff member. Second, if you read the Better Business Bureau of Illinois, you will see a report from the supposed management company Broad shoulders which states they are not legally connected with Shalamar Condominiums. This is because less than 70% of the units have been sold. So right now, it is a real pain to get things done. I will agree that it is in a prime location. The units are nicely decorated, all the same style so don't let that be a cause for increased prices for condos.
