VERY nice for the money!!

I was going in between buying and renting when I looked here. I ended up making up my mind to buy a place rather than rent however I did want to place a review.
Waterford Place was the place I would move to if I decided to rent.
The prices were right (One bedroom apartments at $795 and a One Bedroom Townhouse at $825)
The floorplans for the one bedroom apartments were well layed out and spacious.
The floorplan for the townhouse was oddball however . . . The only bathroom was upstairs. I would think they'd put a mini-bathroom on the ground floor. And the big ugly fusebox is right in your line of vision from the living room. Both are easy to overlook however (Just cover up the fusebox with a picture)
The appliances were from the late 80s however but they didn't look ancient. I was assured that they were going through the apartments and updating them and since I was looking for a summer move in date I could request a unit with updated appliances. There was also a full size washer and dryer in every unit.
I should take this moment to mention that they showed me actual apartments that would be rented out later, not models.
I also liked how the ground floor apartments and the townhouses had private entryways (upper level apartments make do with a common area)
Overall this was a very nicely presented community that I would've rented from had I not decided to buy instead. Oh one thing worth mentioning, I looked at these during December of '02. This complex was the ONLY other complex aside from Village Park of Palatine and Village Green of Wheeling that would allow me to lock in the winter rent rate for a summer move in date.
Parking was great. There were spots right in front of the apartments. You wouldn't have to walk far to your door if you could snatch them up. On the downside I got the impression that people could see in. But you get that in any ground floor apartment.
Quiet location (yet convienent to a lot), well maintained grounds, upbeat office staff, well maintained apartments . . . And they undercut everyone I looked at on prices (aside from Village Park of Palatine, another VERY nice complex but they did not have a washer/dryer in unit and weren't that much cheaper)
